Human Rights

Despite differences of colors, clans, creeds, religions and regions, all humans accept that every individual has some basic rights and no one can deprive him from these rights. Right to life, property, religion and marriage are few of them. These rights are collectively known as human rights. Moreover, special provisions about these fundamental rights are part of almost all supreme documents of the world as well as states. From UN charter to constitutions of the countries, these provisions exist everywhere.

Ironically, breaches of human rights are as common in the world as their existence in written forms. From east to west and north to south, humans are facing tyranny and atrocities of their fellow beings. For example, genocide is one of the severe breach of human rights but people even under the patronage of state institutions are committing this crime with impunity. Massacre of Muslims of Rakhine state in Myanmar by its army is the most ample example of the fact. Similarly, attitudes of governments of China, India and Israel towards people of Xinjiang, Kashmir and Palestine are its other examples. Moreover, activities of western powers, so called champions of human rights, Arab monarchies and Russia in Syria and Yemen are also lying under the criterian of genocidal acts.

Similarly, it is right of every human to live life according to his own belief system. However, violation of this fundamental right of man is also common everywhere in the world. For instance, number of western countries have banned wearing of burka and veil for Muslim women. Now, in countries like Switzerland, a Muslim woman cannot veil her face to show compliance with her religious preachings. Currently, Siri Lankan government is also trying to pass same sort of rules to ban veil. Moreover, Siri lankan institutions have forcefully cremated many corpses of Muslims against their beliefs who died due to coronavirus. Therefore, one can say that humans rights violations are matters of daily routine in the world.

From couple of years, countries like USA and other European countries have been blaming China for violation of human rights in Xinjiang. On the other hand, China has also similar views about west. According to Chinese officials, western forces have been committing serious crimes against humanity in Middle East for years. In simple words, game of accusations and counter accusations about violations of human rights is going on in the world. However, nobody wants to abandon acts against humanity because everyone has legitimate reasons to do so.

Uptill now, countries have only offered lip service to ensure compliance to human rights. West thinks that it has not committed any crime against humanity by killing hundreds of innocent people all around the globe. Meanwhile, Chinese officials also think that they are not doing anything wrong in their west province because they are trying to curtail extremism. In other words, everyone has his own definition of human rights and everyone has his own justification of his heinous crimes against humanity which is a sad reality. It is high time to frame common strategy for  emancipation of humans from brutality.
